The program, July 24th, at 6:30 p.m., will be live-streamed on Facebook and feature the unveiling and dedication of a historical marker that has been placed on the Garrison School site.

The Garrison School Cultural Center in partnership with the Greater Kansas City Black History Study Group, will showcase approximately 10 booklets on “The Impact of the Great Migration on American Society”.  The booklets were developed by 80-90 students working in teams that researched specific topics pertaining to Black Migration, and who also interviewed individuals whose families participated in The Great Migration.

Garrison Cultural Center is hosting a “Women in The Arts” program at Garrison Center on Friday, May 3rd  at 6:30 PM. Catherin Raine and Jasmine Alie will present original works of art. Two other presenters, Dr. Judy Dilts, and Dr. Sylvia Nadler will discuss their art of collecting the works of others.

This exhibit is an interactive way to explore the aspects of how cooking has changed since the original Economy Cookbook was published by the Ladies of the First Presbyterian Church of Liberty in 1880 and again in 1903.
